Found this piece on craigslist, loved the size, style, details.....not so in love with the woodtone, it actually looks nice in the picture but it was the circa 1960/1970 dark faux walnut look and I wasnt feeling it!  We are in the process of a little mini-makeover for our master bedroom and I had been on the hunt for a new dresser since the current one I had since high school....yes thats right and since we are approaching my 20th reunion I thought why not spring for a new one....well new to us of course and well under the pricetag of a new one...this has dove tailed drawers and is a solid piece not like some of the cheap-o furniture today!

DIY little girl bedskirt!

I bribed promised Emmie a super fancy schmancy bedskirt since long story short a certain crafty Aunt Martha was supposed to make her a tutu for her bed when she tossed the crib and went into this big girl bed but now that she is 5 we decided to move on......so she finally agreed to take off her bed rails!! 4 days later happy to report she hasn't fallen out! {yet!}

The Chick-Inn Coop...Our Hen House!

Dave decided to bring home chickens from Pop-o's one day.....I wasn't totally against it but not exactly for it either!  We have nowhere to keep them was my main complaint....So what to do? Cruise Pinterest of course...I found the coolest coop but it was BIG and a major project!  I said this coop and the chickens stay thinking we would be loading them back up to Pop-o's barn! 

Low and behold about a month later....ta-da! Dave never ceases to amaze me, he built this from the ground up just off a simple picture I showed him!

9 years ago today I became a mom for the first time...shocked its been that long but at the same time I can barely remember not being a mom to my sweet Savannah! 

Today, you woke up with a smile on your face {extra early} and chatting in bed with your lil sis!  Half day at school was an extra bonus including a surprise pick up from Daddy with lunch at McDonalds!  We will celebrate with a chocolate cake & chocolate frosting {totally MY girl!} and spagetti with meatballs for dinner just like you requested for your special day!  This weekend we will go to The Wild Animal Park in Chittenango with a few friends instead of having a big party, you are an animal lover always and this should be a fun way to celebrate! 

I love you my sweet sweet Savannah and am so proud of the young lady you are becoming, so kind and thoughtful, smart & silly!  Happy Birthday beautiful girl, may ALL your wishes come true!

I scored this beautiful antique solid hardwood desk for $25!!!!
